Candy Dulfer
Wednesday August 28
The Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival opens on Wednesday, August 28, with a free concert by Candy Dulfer at Kura Hulanda Village.
The Dutch saxophonist Candy Dulfer gained international fame through her collaborations with artists such as Prince, Van Morrison, and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics. With the latter, she scored a worldwide hit with the song “Lily Was Here.” Her debut album Saxuality was immediately nominated for a Grammy Award, and several of her singles reached the number one position in the United States. She has now been touring almost nonstop with her band around the world for over 30 years. In 2022, she released her latest album, We Never Stop. In addition to all her own successes, Dulfer is also part of the Dutch all-star group Ladies of Soul, along with singers Edsilia Rombley, Berget Lewis, and Trijntje Oosterhuis.
